PHA – Pakistan Halal Authority
The Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA) is a statutory body established under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan, pursuant to the Pakistan Halal Authority Act, 2016. PHA is mandated to regulate, promote, and oversee trade and commerce in Halal products, processes, and services across local, import, and export markets. To ensure transparency, traceability, and consumer confidence, PHA maintains a rigorous registration framework for Halal Certification Bodies (HCBs). Its regulatory guidelines align with national, regional, and international Halal standards—including those established by the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) and the International Halal Accreditation Forum (IHAF). QESI is officially registered as a recognized Local Halal Certification Body (LHCB) under the Pakistan Halal Authority regulatory framework, authorizing the organization to perform Halal auditing and certification services.
